SADDLE TRIAL POLICIES
We’re happy to send you a saddle on trial as long as you understand and agree to the following policies:
Your saddle trial period lasts for one week from receipt of saddle, unless you have made other arrangements with us. We will email you with the tracking number of the saddle when it ships and if you decide not to keep the saddle, please do the same when returning it. ONLY SHIP USING UPS OR FEDEX. Do not use USPS.
You are encouraged to girth up the saddle and ride in it so that you can correctly evaluate the fit. However, the integrity/condition of the flaps must be maintained. An easy technique to protect the flaps is to lift the upper flap, attach the stirrup leathers between the two flaps instead of on the outside of the flap. Also, please wrap the stirrup leathers in a tube sock with the toe cut off or just use a leg wrap or anything you have to protect the leather. If a saddle is returned with signs of abrasion on the flaps, there will be a restocking fee of 25%. Please wipe off dirt before returning.
Please be sure that you follow our instructions for evaluating fit and comfort, including girthing up and sitting in the saddle (very important), even if you ride without leathers for a while. In this way, you’ll be more certain that you are making the right choice for you and your horse.
*Note: A brand new saddle is flocked to fit a “hypothetical horse,” and if your horse’s topline differs, you may find the saddle does not sit quite as nicely on the horse as you wish. Even though the saddle tree and shape is correct for your horse, minor adjustments in the flocking can make it perfect. In this case, we suggest that you contact a saddle fitter to adjust and balance the flocking to improve the fit.
RETURNS: Remember that you are responsible for making the decision on fit (tree width, seat size). Remember too that although Duett and its dealers can help with advice, the decision to purchase is yours, and once the purchase is made, the saddle is yours.
If you wish to exchange a saddle for a different size after you have purchased it, for any reason, you can contact us about this option. An exchange might be possible if you have continued to ride with wrapped leathers and have taken excellent care of the saddle. The restocking fee will apply unless the saddle looks brand new.
If we do not have your seat size/tree size combination in stock, it can be put in with our next regular order. If you need something sooner, we can put in a special order to be delivered in 4 – 6 weeks. This typically will add $150 to the price of the saddle plus shipping. Special orders must be paid in full at the time the order is placed and all special orders are final sale.
