You may have noticed it’s been a little while since our last Duett blog post. This winter kept us busy—but for all the right reasons. And yes, that post about girths that I promised is still coming!
For those of you who know us, you know exactly what Duett stands for. Since 2001, we’ve built our reputation around one thing: creating saddles that truly fit wide horses and those that are traditionally difficult to fit. That commitment hasn’t changed—and it never will.
Since Sheri and I took over the company in 2017, we’ve made meaningful updates while staying true to our core mission. In 2019, we moved production to England, allowing us to elevate craftsmanship and refine our designs even further. Every improvement we make is driven by one goal: helping wide horses move more freely, comfortably, and happily under saddle.
And we’re proud to say—it’s working.
We’ve had tremendous success improving comfort and performance for wide breeds. This is what we do. It’s what we’re known for. And it remains at the heart of everything we build.
But over the years, something interesting kept happening.
Many of our loyal Duett customers began asking us the same question:
“Can you make a saddle for my other horse?”
People owned other breeds such as Warmbloods, Thoroughbreds and others. Horses that don’t fall into the “wide” category—but still need thoughtful, correct fitting. Horses that require medium and medium-wide trees, built with the same care and philosophy we bring to our wide line.
So… we listened.
And we’re excited to finally say: we did it.
Introducing the Trio standard width dressage saddle line—our new collection of saddles designed specifically for “regular” width horses. Built with the same attention to detail, balance, and horse-first philosophy that defines every Duett saddle—just tailored for a different shape.
This isn’t a departure from who we are. It’s an expansion.
Wide horses are still our foundation. Always will be.
But now, we can help even more horses—and riders—find the fit they’ve been looking for.
